Day and Night by Month (All Years)

Observed averages with the sun above the horizon at the station (day) and below it (night), from the station's position; filled hours left out. Day % = share of the month's hours that are day. Year = the average of the 12 months (day hours are mostly summer hours, so an average of all hours would mix the season into the day–night difference).

Forecast accuracy: how to read the tables

MET Nordic forecasts against this station's observations (filled hours left out). Bias = average of forecast − observed (+ = forecast too high); MAE = average size of the error. By year and month: forecast hours 1–24 h ahead, the range a night's plan mostly uses. As stored, the forecast air temperature is only moved from the grid's height to the station's; wind and humidity are the model's. Shaded columns: after correction, fitted on these same data (so somewhat better than on new data): air and RH with each calendar month's mean bias removed; wind × the station's potential-wind factor × its exposure that month (needs the station's model roughness, under the map above).

Storage

Hourly simulation results take most of the database. They are only saved when "Save hourly data in database" is ticked (the Details tab computes a run's hours from its saved inputs), and kept for the newest 5 runs per project. Every run keeps its inputs, summary and daily results (reports, charts, baselines). Removing old hourly data also gives the space back to the disk.

Engine Verification

A fixed set of reference scenarios (frozen weather, solar data and configuration; tests/reference) and the results each simulator version gives for them. Verify runs every scenario with the engine in this browser, compares it with the stored results, and checks the strategy rules on every hour (late start, boiler last, no overshoot, banking first, energy balance...).
